We are looking for an organizational secretary in a 25–30% position!

Garmeres is a growing and evolving organization. We are working to strengthen our board work and organizational structure, so that we can best serve our members and our role in society. We are looking for a motivated and structured organizational secretary who wants to contribute to developing and strengthening the organization during this phase.

The position is a temporary engagement starting as soon as possible, with a duration of 7 months. The position is funded through grant funding and runs until 31.12.2026. Any extension is contingent on the approval of new funding.

The key objectives of the engagement are to develop infrastructure for member and volunteer activity in Garmeres.

Garmeres is a membership organization by and for queer Sámi people. Our work aims to make the voices of queer Sámi people visible and to create inclusive meeting places. In addition to strengthening member and volunteer follow-up, we want to further develop the organization's structure and working methods.

Tasks

  • Respond to email inquiries
  • Plan and coordinate board training and competence development
  • Send meeting invitations and take minutes
  • Coordinate and carry out board meetings, member and volunteer events
  • Contribute to the day-to-day operations of the organization
  • Contribute to organizational development, with a focus on membership democracy and volunteering
  • Financial follow-up and basic budgeting
  • Update websites and social media
  • Other tasks may be added

Some evening and weekend work should be expected during certain periods, as well as participation in one in-person board meeting.

Qualifications

  • You have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or courses and experience that can compensate for the educational requirement
  • You have extensive experience with and knowledge of working in membership organizations, preferably from a user or interest organization
  • You can facilitate good communication and collaboration
  • You learn quickly and are able to utilize the potential in various software and technical solutions. For example, our online membership system provided by Hypersys, our website built with Strapi, and various social media platforms. (You don't need to be deeply familiar with all of these, but you must be able to become so :)
  • You are comfortable communicating in Norwegian and English, and can coordinate with translators.
  • If you speak a Sámi language in addition, that is a bonus.
  • We appreciate it if you have experience developing systems and routines.
  • You have good knowledge of Garmeres' target group and ideally identify as part of the target group yourself.

Personal suitability, competence, and experience will be emphasized.
